Day 22 - The longest day

Today has turned out to be the latest finish and probably because of the late start. Unfortunately the first ferry from Salcombe was at 8.30 so I didn't really get walking until a few minutes after.
Again the stretch up to and around Prawle point was hopelessly overgrown. AS in previous sections I spent most of the first 4 hours just looking where I was putting my feet. Once the other side of Start point things improved and as well as the better defined path, the path also levelled out and from Hallsands to Strete Gate was flat so the next five miles flew by.
However by the time I reached Strete gate it was already 4 pm. The remaining 4 or 5 miles were more undulating and tiredness was a factor in taking nearly 3 hours to get to Dartmouth castle. By the time I manged to get into the town it was nearly 8.
I will be making a much earlier start tomorrow, so I can finish that much earlier.
