Tuesday? Is it Tuesday already? Day 11 - Portreath to St Ives

Today followed the usual pattern. I woke up to overcast skies and showers, but by mid morning the sun was shining but the wind was blowing (albeit not as hard as some days).
The first few miles were the same as yesterday; high cliff walking once I got out of the village. Gradually it turned into the Hayle Estuary with  a walk very similar to when I walked on the Taw and Torridge estuaries back on about day 4. You walk down one side of the estuary seeing places you then walk past on the other side. a bit frustrating, but thems the breaks.
the town of Hayle looked totally uninspiring. I had intended to detour to the Bucket of blood pub as it is historic, but I arrived at the wrong time for lunch.
After the estuary the path follows the road and branch railway for all of the way into St Ives via Carbis Bay. Once away fro the estuary the views improved and I actually managed to get to St Ives by 3 pm so this is the shortest day so far. After dumping my pack I managed to have a couple of hours around town and some time in the Tate modern.
tomorrow will be far tougher and just looking forward to getting to Sennen Cove as I think it will be prettying hilly.
Sorry for the paucity of photos but the first few miles were pretty uninspiring. Hopefully I can atone tomorrow.
